Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to a coastal island in Maine when their neighbor Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie.
But it’s not just Morgan’s death that has Sadie on edge. And as the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened that dark and deadly night. The ending? Really?

Overall, the story was interesting...yet pretty unrealistic. With this being said it took quite a while for the story to pick up and when it did it was just a silly, unrealistic scenario.
I found myself skipping through Sadie’s never ending, unnecessary internal dialogue. She was not like able in my opinion. She is incapable of standing up for herself even in times where a very shy person would do so. She is said to be completely in love with being a mother yet quite inattentive to her children.
When the book finally picked up and took a turn it just MADE NO SENSE. I found myself rolling my eyes throughout this book so many times.
By the end there were so many unanswered questions, not in a good way. This book did not serve what it said to deliver.
Expectedly mediocre
